In an effort to enhance access to higher education, a new district-level higher education guidance and control room has been launched at the Tiruchi Collectorate. This initiative is designed to support students from various backgrounds for the academic year 2025-26. It specifically targets individuals who have passed, failed, or not appeared for the Class XII examinations, as well as those with disabilities, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and students lacking parental support. The guidance cell will also assist students facing health or social challenges, including those residing in refugee camps. Furthermore, it will help students who were not selected during the counselling process after completing Classes XI and XII by directing them towards opportunities in diploma programs, Industrial Training Institutes (ITI), and other skill-based courses. The control room will provide comprehensive information about higher education options, including government arts and science colleges and technical training institutions in the district. To ensure that students' concerns and grievances are addressed, a grievance redress meeting will be held every fourth week from June to October 2026.
