This decision marks a shift from the current school year, starting five days later than the 2026-2027 academic year. The school calendar outlines 177 instructional days, including a five-day Thanksgiving break and six-day recesses for both winter and spring breaks. Additionally, the calendar incorporates three makeup days for inclement weather, scheduled for June 12, 13, and 14, with the school year concluding on June 14, 2028, unless the makeup days are not needed, in which case it will end on June 11. The calendar also allows for four non-instructional days after each marking period for grading, and schools will be closed for Yom Kippur and Election Day. In the event of severe weather leading to more than three closures, the district will implement virtual learning days.
