The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened a correction window for candidates of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026, allowing them to change their examination city, date, and shift until May 7, 2026, at 11:50 PM. This decision follows numerous complaints from students, particularly those from Delhi, Haryana, and Bihar, who were assigned exam centres located hundreds of kilometres away from their selected cities, causing concerns over high travel and accommodation costs. For example, students from Delhi were assigned centres in Agra, Jaipur, and Mohali, making inter-state travel challenging and expensive. The correction window will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and revised admit cards will be issued to those who make changes. Candidates who miss the deadline will have to attend their originally allotted centres. The NTA explained that the issues arose due to a high number of registrations, with 15.6 lakh candidates and limited capacity at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres. Despite the challenges, the agency noted that 79% of candidates received their first choice of city, while 96.6% were assigned to one of their preferred locations.
