The Kozhikode City police held a three-day workshop from June 3 to June 5, 2026, to enhance the investigative skills of its officers in cybercrime cases. Under the supervision of District Police Chief Merin Joseph and the Cyber Operations Division, the initiative aimed to develop a technology-driven policing framework to address the increasing complexity of cyber fraud. The program focused on bridging skill gaps in handling digital evidence and improving the overall quality of cybercrime investigations. Officers received hands-on training with tools and portals used in cyber investigations, including practical sessions on law enforcement request systems from major service providers like Google and Microsoft. Special attention was given to ensuring that collected digital evidence adheres to legal standards for admissibility in court. The curriculum also included advanced topics such as APK file analysis and cryptocurrency investigations, reflecting the evolving landscape of cybercrime.
