In a significant crackdown on illegal betting, police arrested Anshuman (40) and Abhishek Pathak (31) for allegedly running an online betting racket during Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Mahendrapuri Colony, India. Following a tip-off, a police team from Sipri Bazar conducted a raid, uncovering digital transactions exceeding ₹8 crore on the suspects' mobile phones. The operation involved accepting wagers on various match aspects, including wickets and runs. Authorities seized over ₹5,000 in cash and froze nine bank accounts containing around ₹1.80 lakh linked to the accused. During questioning, the suspects revealed their connection to Ravi Kushwaha, the main accused, who is currently on the run. A case has been registered, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend Kushwaha.
