The Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office has issued a warning for stormy rainfall expected from April 20 to 22, affecting several regions including the ghat areas of western Maharashtra, Khandesh, Marathwada, and parts of Vidarbha. The weather department indicates that cloud formation could lead to rain accompanied by thunder, intense lightning, gusty winds, and isolated hailstorms. Early signs of this stormy weather may begin as soon as April 18, particularly in the ghat areas. The rainfall activity is anticipated to intensify over the following days, with impacts expected across the Pune division, southern Marathwada, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar division, and the Amravati region of Vidarbha. However, the intensity of the rainfall is predicted to ease after April 22. In light of this forecast, the state’s Agriculture Department has advised farmers to take necessary precautions to protect their harvested and standing crops from potential damage due to adverse weather conditions.
