Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that Bastar, a tribal region in Chhattisgarh, India, will transform into the most developed tribal division in the country within five years, with an anticipated sixfold increase in income. Speaking at a press conference in Jagdalpur, Shah highlighted the government's commitment to eliminate Naxalism and promote development in the area. The Veer Shaheed Gundadhur Seva Deras, inaugurated recently, will serve as hubs for delivering government services, including banking and digital facilities, to tribal residents. Shah noted that these Seva Deras aim to ensure that the local population, historically deprived of development, receives the benefits of over 371 government schemes. Significant infrastructure improvements have been made, including the construction of 12,211 kilometers of roads at a cost of ₹20,557 crore (approximately $2.5 billion USD). Shah also mentioned plans for establishing a large dairy network to support local agriculture. He urged the tribal community to embrace development and remain vigilant against any resurgence of Naxalism, assuring them of government support in their journey towards progress.
