Steven High, the executive director of The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, has announced his retirement after 15 years of leadership. Since taking the role in 2011, High has significantly enhanced the museum's collections, educational programs, and community engagement. Under his guidance, the museum's annual operating budget grew from $12 million to $28 million, and its endowment increased from $27 million to $67 million. High oversaw the completion of major projects, including the Ting Tsung and Wei Fong Chao Center for Asian Art and the Kotler-Coville Glass Pavilion. His tenure also included the successful completion of a $100 million comprehensive campaign in 2019. The Ringling, which encompasses nearly 500,000 square feet and welcomes over 400,000 visitors annually, serves as a vital cultural and academic resource for Florida State University.
