Bisaam Ghafoor, a 21-year-old man from Leawood, Kansas, faces federal charges for allegedly conspiring to provide material support to the terrorist organization ISIS. The U.S. Department of Justice announced his arrest by the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Kansas City, Kansas. Alongside two California men, Elias Shamsaldeen and Bereen Dzayee, Ghafoor is accused of donating $2,000 to an individual they believed to be affiliated with ISIS. The complaint filed in the U.S. District of Kansas details Ghafoor's communications in which he pledged allegiance to ISIS and expressed a desire to engage in violent acts.
