Lakshya Sen, the seventh seed and bronze medallist from the 2021 World Championships, overcame China's Zhu Xuan Chen in 39 minutes, winning 21-12, 21-13. Sindhu's next challenge will be against the top seed and world No. 3 Akane Yamaguchi from Japan, while Lakshya will face Thailand's second seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn. Additionally, India's top-seeded men's doubles team, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, also progressed to the quarterfinals after defeating Malaysia's Bryan Jeremy Goonting and Muhammad Haikal with scores of 21-12, 21-19. Unfortunately, former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth was eliminated after a close match against Su Li Yang from Chinese Taipei, losing 16-21, 21-11, 18-21 in a contest that lasted over an hour.
