On the death anniversary of K Kasturirangan, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan paid homage to the former ISRO chairman and Rajya Sabha MP. Pradhan reflected on Kasturirangan's significant contributions to India's National Education Policy 2020, describing him as a mentor whose insights shaped his understanding of education and nation-building. He noted Kasturirangan's vision for an education system that fosters curiosity and inclusivity, allowing every child to reach their full potential. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also honored Kasturirangan, recognizing his leadership in advancing India's space capabilities through the successful operationalization of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and developments in the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). K Kasturirangan, who passed away on April 25, 2022, at the age of 84, was celebrated for his role in the development of major satellite systems and his contributions to India's space program. He was a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan, and held significant positions, including serving as a member of the Rajya Sabha and the Planning Commission.
