The Bajaj Group, established in 1926 by Jamnalal Bajaj in Mumbai, celebrated its 100th anniversary on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the group's historical contributions to nation-building, emphasizing its role in job creation, innovation, and community support. With a market capitalization of $148 billion and approximately 130,000 employees, the group has diversified interests spanning auto, financial services, consumer electricals, and engineering. During the centenary event in central Mumbai, Niraj Bajaj, chairman of Bajaj Auto, noted that India's journey towards self-reliance began much earlier, thanks to pioneers like his grandfather. The family also announced plans to venture into the healthcare sector, led by Nirav Bajaj, reflecting their commitment to societal welfare. Shekhar Bajaj, CMD of Bajaj Electricals, highlighted that true success should be measured by the positive impact on communities and values upheld, as the group looks forward to its next century.
