Naren Dhar, a 38-year-old Indian protocol officer from Chandigarh, was found dead at India’s Assistant High Commission in Chattogram, Bangladesh. His body was discovered on September 26, 2023, near the bathroom door of a data entry room on the second floor of the building, located on Zakir Hossain Road in the Khulshi area. According to local police, the initial assessment suggests that Dhar may have died of a cardiac arrest, as no injury marks or suspicious signs were evident on the body. Chattogram Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner for Public Relations, Aminur Rashid, stated that the necessary formalities were completed before the body was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for a postmortem examination. CMCH Director Brig Gen Mohammad Taslim Uddin confirmed that Dhar was brought in dead. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death has been initiated, with authorities awaiting the autopsy report to provide further clarity on the situation.
