Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old from Alwar, Rajasthan, has been arrested for the rape and murder of a 22-year-old woman in Amar Colony, Delhi. Once a high-achieving student with 90% in Class 12, Meena's life took a dark turn due to an addiction to online gambling. Reports indicate that he sold his marksheet, mobile phone, and other personal belongings to fund his gambling habits. The victim, an IIT graduate and UPSC aspirant, was attacked in her home while studying. Meena entered the residence under false pretenses, claiming he was sent by the victim's mother. After attempting to strangle her, he sexually assaulted her and inflicted fatal injuries using a heavy object. Following the crime, he attempted to steal cash and valuables before fleeing. Meena was later apprehended in a hotel in Dwarka and is now in judicial custody for four days as investigations continue.
