Dua Lipa, a prominent singer and songwriter, has initiated a lawsuit against Samsung for $15 million in damages, claiming the company used her image without permission on its TV packaging. The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California and alleges copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and violation of her right of publicity. Lipa asserts that she holds all rights to the image titled 'Dua Lipa – Backstage at Austin City Limits, 2024'. According to the complaint, Lipa discovered the unauthorized use of her image in June 2025 and promptly requested that Samsung cease its use. However, she claims Samsung responded dismissively and continued to sell the TVs featuring her image across the United States. The lawsuit emphasizes that Lipa's hard work in building her brand has been undermined by Samsung's actions, depriving her of the ability to control and profit from her likeness.
