In a tragic incident in South Mumbai, a family of four, including Abdullah (40), Nasrin (35), and their daughters Zainab (13) and Ayesha (16), died from suspected food poisoning after consuming watermelon during a family gathering on April 25. The family initially fell ill after eating watermelon following a meal of chicken pulav. Despite being rushed to a private hospital and later to JJ Hospital, they succumbed to their illnesses. Authorities suspect food poisoning, as other guests who only ate the pulav did not experience any health issues. Experts note that while watermelon can be linked to fatalities, these cases are rare and often involve external contamination or underlying medical conditions.
