Vikramaditya Singh, the Public Works and Urban Development Minister of Himachal Pradesh, recently engaged in high-level discussions with Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar in Bengaluru. The focus of these meetings was to explore Karnataka's urban development framework and identify practices that could be adapted for Himachal Pradesh. A significant emphasis was placed on innovative road construction and strengthening techniques currently employed in Karnataka, which Singh believes could enhance road infrastructure in his state.

Singh expressed a strong interest in the latest methodologies for road maintenance and construction, stating that senior officials from Himachal Pradesh's Public Works and Urban Development departments would soon visit Karnataka to learn from its successful urban development initiatives. The discussions also covered the use of information technology in urban governance, strategies for traffic decongestion, civic infrastructure financing, and integrated public service delivery systems. Key aspects of Bengaluru's urban development model, such as intelligent traffic management systems and sustainable smart city infrastructure, were highlighted. Singh remarked, “We are studying the Bengaluru model closely and examining how its successful components can be adapted to the unique geographical and ecological conditions of Himachal Pradesh.”
