Jagex has officially announced the launch of RuneScape: Dragonwilds on PlayStation 5, scheduled for 2026. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the RuneScape franchise will transition from PC to consoles in its 25-year history. The announcement was made during Sony's State of Play showcase, where it was revealed that Dragonwilds will also be available as a day one title on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. The game, which has already seen success on PC with over 1 million copies sold and a 'very positive' user review rating, is set in the newly introduced continent of Ashenfall. Players will engage in cooperative gameplay, gathering resources, building, and crafting to survive against awakened dragons. The ultimate goal is to defeat the Dragon Queen, either solo or with allies. The long-running RuneScape MMO, which has been available on PC and mobile, has yet to make its console debut until now, making this launch a notable event for fans and newcomers alike.
