Amid soaring temperatures in Uttar Pradesh, Energy Minister AK Sharma has taken decisive action against power department officials for negligence that could impact public convenience and power supply. Sharma stressed that any laxity during the ongoing heatwave would not be tolerated. As a result, executive engineer Yogesh Kumar, stationed in Meerut, has been suspended for failing to meet departmental responsibilities. Similarly, executive engineer Rahul from Ghaziabad faced immediate suspension after a preliminary inquiry revealed serious negligence in his duties. Additionally, superintending engineer Ramanand has received a special adverse entry for his lack of engagement in departmental work. Warnings were also issued to chief engineers Satyendra Singh of Meerut and Shailesh Gupta of Agra for their negligence. The energy minister has directed the department to prioritize power supply, grievance redressal, and field monitoring to ensure consumers do not face any inconvenience during this critical time. Sharma's firm stance reflects the government's commitment to providing uninterrupted and quality power supply to its citizens, especially during the peak summer months.
