Varma has struggled significantly, averaging below nine runs with a strike rate of 120.68 in four matches, contributing to MI's disappointing start with three losses. Kartik noted that while Suryakumar Yadav has shown some promise with two decent scores, Varma's lack of runs is a major concern for the team. He suggested that MI might need to consider Naman Dhir as an opening option if Rohit Sharma, who is doubtful due to a hamstring injury, cannot play. Furthermore, Kartik pointed out MI's bowling woes, indicating that the team has conceded at least 220 runs in three of their four matches, with only Jasprit Bumrah maintaining a commendable economy rate of 8.20 but failing to take any wickets.
