Gigaphoton Inc., a leading manufacturer of lightsources for semiconductor lithography, has announced the installation of training lasers at its Kyushu office in Oyama, Tochigi, Japan. Operations are scheduled to commence in June 2026. This initiative is part of Gigaphoton's strategy to bolster its customer support capabilities amid rising capital investments in the semiconductor industry, driven by increasing demand for artificial intelligence (AI). The newly established cleanroom at the Kyushu office can accommodate up to three training lasers, significantly enhancing the training capacity for Field Service Engineers (FSEs). This development will facilitate faster skill acquisition and enable Gigaphoton to offer training programs to clients in western Japan, thereby fostering closer collaboration.
