At 41 years old, Ronaldo continues to break records, holding the title for the most international goals scored at 143. He has previously captained Portugal in the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 World Cups. Currently, Rafael Márquez of Mexico is the only player to have achieved this milestone. Ronaldo has played 22 matches in World Cup history, scoring eight goals, which places him second on Portugal's all-time World Cup scoring list, just behind Eusébio, who netted nine goals. If Ronaldo scores at least two goals in the upcoming tournament, he will surpass Eusébio's record. Additionally, he has the chance to become the first player ever to score in six different World Cups, having scored in each of the last five editions.
