Violence erupted in Tamtiya village, located in Banswara district, Rajasthan, following the murder of a youth named Govind on Sunday night. The murder was reportedly linked to an ongoing dispute over a love affair. In retaliation, a mob of approximately 500 people attacked the homes of the accused, setting fire to 20-25 thatched houses and cattle enclosures, as well as vandalizing several vehicles. Fortunately, no casualties were reported during the incident. Police Superintendent Sudhir Joshi confirmed that additional police forces were deployed to restore order and that three suspects have been detained in connection with the murder. Authorities are taking precautionary measures by increasing security around the police station and monitoring roads leading into the village to prevent outside interference. The situation is currently under control, and investigations are ongoing.
