Nagpur University (NU) is implementing special summer examinations for final-year students aiming for postgraduate admissions at national institutes. This initiative, a first for the university, is designed to address scheduling conflicts that previously prevented students from receiving timely results for entrance exams. Students are required to submit their applications through their college principals to the director of the students welfare department. The university plans to complete the examination process within 25 days, with results expected before July 5, allowing students to participate in ongoing admission rounds. Currently, 40 students have applied for these special exams, which are typically reserved for athletes. NU officials are encouraging more students to come forward, aiming for a sufficient number of applicants to proceed with the exams. Additionally, Senate member Manmohan Bajpai emphasized the need for better scheduling of future academic sessions to avoid conflicts with major competitive exams, advocating for the interests of students in the Vidarbha region.
