Vin Diesel has announced that the Fast & Furious franchise is expanding into television with four new shows currently in development for Peacock. This decision, revealed during NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation in New York, comes in response to fan demand for more in-depth stories about legacy characters. Diesel, who will also serve as an executive producer, emphasized the importance of these characters, stating that fans have long wanted to explore their stories further. Currently, only one series is confirmed, but the franchise's move to TV marks a significant shift as it approaches the end of its film saga, with the final movie, titled Fast Forever, set to release in March 2028. The franchise, which began with the original film in 2001, has grown into a global powerhouse, grossing over $7 billion worldwide across eleven films, including the successful spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw. Diesel and producer Neal Moritz will also be attending a special screening of the original film at the Cannes Film Festival to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary.
