The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is implementing several changes to its Class 12 results policy to enhance the examination process. Notably, the introduction of the On-screen Marking (OSM) system aims to streamline the evaluation process by allowing teachers to assess answer sheets digitally, thus reducing logistical delays and human errors. Additionally, CBSE has decided to stop announcing the list of toppers to alleviate pressure on students, a move that reflects a shift towards a more equitable assessment approach. The board will also separate the release dates for Class 10 and Class 12 results, with Class 12 results expected in May and Class 10 results in April. This marks a significant change from previous years when results were released in close succession. Furthermore, CBSE will not disclose the exact date of results to prevent the spread of misinformation, and it will no longer publish aggregate percentages to focus on individual student performance. These measures are part of CBSE's ongoing efforts to adapt to the growing number of students and improve the overall examination experience.
