The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has initiated a U-turn-based traffic management plan at Kamta crossing on Faizabad Road due to ongoing traffic congestion. This decision follows a public interest litigation (PIL) hearing on April 16, where the court highlighted the authorities' failure to address the persistent traffic snarls effectively. The new plan includes diversions and regulated U-turns aimed at improving vehicular flow, particularly for traffic coming from Chinhat towards Polytechnic and key destinations like the high court and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS). Vehicles will be rerouted through the Vijaipur service road and underpass, while specific U-turn points have been designated for smoother transitions. The deputy commissioner of police (traffic), Raveena Tyagi, along with other officials, is expected to report on the situation during the court's next hearing on May 1, emphasizing the urgency of finding lasting solutions to the city's traffic woes.
