In a significant move against corruption, Padma Jaiswal, an IAS officer from the 2003 AGMUT cadre, has been dismissed from her position following allegations of misconduct dating back to her time as Deputy Commissioner of West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh. The dismissal order was issued earlier this week after receiving approval from the President of India, based on recommendations from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The allegations stem from a complaint made by local residents in February 2008, accusing her of misusing her official position and misappropriating government funds. Although she was suspended in April 2008, her suspension was revoked in October 2010. Throughout her career, Jaiswal has held various important roles across Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, and Puducherry. She is an alumnus of St. Xavier's School and holds an MBA from University Business School, Panjab University, along with a certification as a Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
