Kajal Meena, a Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Nadauti, located in Karauli district, Rajasthan, has been arrested by the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹60,000 (approximately $720 USD). The arrest followed a complaint that claimed she demanded a bribe of ₹1 lakh (roughly $1,200 USD) for processing an order related to a land dispute, which was later negotiated down to ₹60,000. Alongside Meena, her reader Dinesh Kumar Saini and senior assistant Praveen Dhakad were also apprehended. Meena, who graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, previously served in various central government roles and was the topper of the 2024 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) examination in the Scheduled Tribe category. This incident has led to significant backlash on social media, with users questioning the integrity of civil servants and the accountability of the system. Critics pointed out the disparity between Meena's earlier statements about bringing positive change through administrative service and her current situation, highlighting concerns about corruption in public service.
