In a significant ruling, the Telangana High Court has provided relief to K Chandrasekhar Rao (BRS chief) and three others by stating that no action can be taken against them based on the findings of the PC Ghose Commission. This commission was established to investigate alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. The court, led by Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice G M Mohiuddin, determined that the commission's findings were prejudicial to the petitioners and violated principles of natural justice. The report, which was submitted to the state government and tabled in the assembly in August, held Rao accountable for irregularities and also criticized former minister T Harish Rao, a nephew of KCR. Following the report's findings, the Telangana government announced plans to transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). However, the court's decision effectively nullifies the commission's findings against the petitioners.
