Cadaver sexually abused at Maricopa County mortuary, jail files say A burglary investigation in downtown Phoenix at the county medical examiner's office led to the arrest of a man suspected of sexually abusing a cadaver. Fenris Lu is charged on suspicion of multiple felonies, including sexual conduct with a dead person, third-degree burglary, escaping custody, criminal damage and possession of burglary tools, according to jail records. Around 1:33 a.m., May 20, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about a possible burglary at the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner, according to the law enforcement agency's spokesperson, Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez. County security services and Phoenix police were at the scene and helped secure the facility, which is located on Jefferson Street and Seventh Avenue, Enriquez said in an email. Lu was located during a search of the building and taken into custody without incident, according to Enriquez. "This remains an active and sensitive investigation being led by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives are currently working diligently to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and are in the process of making notifications to any individuals who may have been affected," read a statement from Enriquez. As of the night of May 20, Lu was being held on a $500,000 bond at the Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix, according to jail records.
