The Census 2027 in Andhra Pradesh will officially begin on April 16 and will be conducted in a digital format. The process includes two phases: the Houselisting and Housing Census, which will assess housing and logistical needs, followed by the Population Census. J Nivas, the Director of Census Operations, emphasized that this digital approach marks a significant advancement in data collection methods. The census is vital for informing government policies, designing welfare schemes, and improving infrastructure in both urban and rural areas. He urged the public to cooperate and provide accurate information, warning of potential criminal action against those who obstruct the census. Preparations have been finalized, with administrative units established and pre-tests conducted in select districts. The census will cover 28 districts, 688 mandals, 123 statutory towns, 99 census towns, and 16,862 villages throughout the state.
