Telangana is currently facing an intense heatwave, with maximum temperatures soaring above 46°C in 12 districts on May 25, 2026. The Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) reported that Vemulapalle in Nalgonda was the hottest spot, reaching 46.5°C. Following closely were Pinapaka and Dharmapuri, both recording 46.4°C. Other districts such as Dahegaon and Aloor also experienced extreme heat, with temperatures ranging from 46.3°C to 46.1°C. Additionally, several districts recorded temperatures between 45°C and 46°C, including Mahadevpur at 45.8°C and Sangem at 45.7°C. The situation is exacerbated by other areas reporting temperatures between 42°C and 45°C, indicating a widespread heat crisis across the state. The high temperatures pose significant health risks to residents, prompting concerns about heat-related illnesses and the need for precautionary measures.
