The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is intensifying its probe into the TCS Nashik sexual harassment and forced conversion case by re-interviewing former employees who abruptly resigned between 2022 and 2024. Allegations include that victims sent over 78 emails and made numerous calls to the HR department, but received no response. Following the registration of nine FIRs, eight individuals, including team leaders and an assistant general manager of HR, have been arrested. One of the accused, Ashwini Chainani, allegedly discouraged a victim from filing a complaint, stating, 'these things happen.' She is currently in 14-day judicial custody. Investigators discovered that WhatsApp groups were allegedly created to coordinate the targeting of vulnerable Hindu women employees, pressuring them into unwanted religious practices. TCS has stated that its preliminary review found no complaints on its ethics or Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) channels, and it has hired Deloitte and law firm Trilegal for an independent inquiry. The police are encouraging additional victims to come forward and anticipate more arrests.
