This loss, their fifth in a row at home, leaves DC struggling near the bottom of the points table and extends their wait for an IPL title into an 18th season. Director of cricket Venugopal Rao expressed his disappointment, reflecting on the franchise's long-standing challenges since the days of the Delhi Daredevils. He noted that the team has been plagued by inconsistencies, particularly in batting, which he described as their biggest challenge. Rao defended underperforming players like captain Axar Patel and spinner Kuldeep Yadav, acknowledging that even experienced players can go through rough patches. Looking ahead, he mentioned the possibility of experimenting with younger players in their remaining matches, indicating a shift in strategy as they aim to improve their performance.
