Harley-Davidson is recalling 88,039 motorcycles due to a defect that may lead to oil being ejected from the crankcase, increasing the risk of injury. This recall affects various models, including the 2024-2026 FLTRX and FLHX, as well as 2025-2026 FXBR and FLFB models. The issue arises from a blocked breather port that can cause pressure to build inside the crankcase. If the dipstick is removed under pressure, oil could be expelled from the fill spout. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has stated that dealers will inspect the breather ports and clear any blockages free of charge. Owners will be notified by May 11 and can contact Harley-Davidson customer service for further inquiries. This recall follows a previous one in March, where nearly 17,000 motorcycles were recalled due to potential brake failure, which was flagged after reports of inoperable brakes on a 2025 FXLRST model.
