The district census officer, Vinita Singh, reported that these requests emerged shortly after duty assignments were allocated, which involve about 14,400 employees, primarily teachers from primary and secondary education. The employees will serve as enumerators from May 22 to June 20, 2026, and will receive an honorarium of โน10,000. The reasons for exemption include various health issues such as cardiac ailments, kidney problems, and migraines. To ensure a fair assessment, Singh has instructed the chief medical officer (CMO) to establish a medical board to evaluate the claims. Most requests are coming from rural areas like Soraon and Phulpur, while areas like Koraon and Meja reported the fewest applications.
