In a bid to promote eco-friendly commuting, Uttar Pradesh's Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna cycled to his office on Thursday, while Minister of State Dinesh Pratap Singh used a three-wheeler. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directive to reduce petrol and diesel consumption. Singh emphasized that using public transport even a few days a week can significantly decrease fuel use and traffic congestion. A 'No Vehicle Day' will be observed by all staff, encouraging them to use public transport. Khanna expressed that conserving fuels is a national duty, as 85-86% of India’s petroleum products are imported. He pledged to cycle to work at least once a week. Additionally, Ayush Minister Dayashankar Mishra opted for an electric vehicle for his commute, highlighting the government's commitment to sustainable practices.
