The Tata semiconductor plant in Jagiroad, Assam, is set to start production soon, marking a significant milestone for the state's industrial landscape. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, after visiting the site, announced that the facility will produce up to 48 million semiconductor chips daily, catering to vital sectors such as automobiles, telecom, and consumer electronics. Sarma highlighted the strategic importance of this project in aligning with India's ambitions for technological independence and advanced manufacturing, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
