In Pilibhit, the Uttar Pradesh Cow Service Commission, represented by member Rajesh Singh Sengar, is promoting a self-reliance model for cow shelters. During a recent inspection, Sengar emphasized the need for shelters to generate income through the commercial use of cattle byproducts. The commission plans to collaborate with the horticulture department to create eco-friendly flowerpots from cow dung and enhance the production of organic manure, vermicompost, and biogas, thereby reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers. Currently, Pilibhit's 66 cow shelters house 8,190 stray cattle, producing over 300 quintals of dung daily.
