On Wednesday at 4:10 PM, a fire broke out in the technical room of the underground T2 Airport Metro Station in Andheri, Mumbai. The incident led to the evacuation of passengers, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) described the event as a 'minor smoke incident' and stated that services were briefly disrupted along the Metro Aqua Line 3 between Aarey JVLR and Cuffe Parade. Emergency services were notified at 4:13 PM, with three fire engines and two jumbo tankers arriving on the scene. The fire was extinguished by 4:30 PM, and smoke was managed using breathing apparatus by firefighters. MMRCL confirmed that normal operations have resumed and all safety protocols were followed. This incident follows a previous fire in November 2024 at the Bandra-Kurla Complex metro station.
