Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hudco) reported a remarkable 172% increase in its consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter of FY26, reaching ₹1,981 crore compared to ₹728 crore in the same quarter last year. This surge was primarily driven by a significant deferred tax gain of ₹1,530 crore, contrasting with a deferred tax expense of ₹102 crore from the previous year. Revenue from operations also saw a healthy 25% growth, amounting to ₹3,563 crore, bolstered by a 26% rise in interest income, which totaled ₹3,555 crore. Despite the impressive bottom line, profit before tax fell 39% to ₹621 crore from ₹1,020 crore year-on-year. The board has recommended a final dividend of ₹1.5 per equity share for FY26, subject to approval at the upcoming annual general meeting. However, total expenses rose sharply by 63% to ₹3,004 crore, with finance costs increasing by 30%. For the entire fiscal year FY26, Hudco's consolidated net profit was ₹4,034 crore, up 49% from ₹2,709 crore in FY25.
