Niña Ytang, a promising middle blocker for Alas Pilipinas, is gaining valuable experience in her first international competition at the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Cup. Despite a tough match against Australia, where the team lost with a score of 22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 15-25, 11-15, Ytang showcased her skills by scoring 13 points, including nine spikes, three aces, and a block. Reflecting on her performance, Ytang expressed that she has learned a lot about herself and the importance of teamwork. She emphasized the need for better communication and composure on the court, as the team has only recently come together. Ytang's debut match prior to the loss was a victory against Uzbekistan, where she contributed significantly with 12 points. Her interim coach, Shaq Delos Santos, and team captain, Alyssa Valdez, have both commended her efforts and potential as a key player for the team moving forward.
