Naushad Siddique, born in 1993 in Bhangar, South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal, is the only member of the Indian Secular Front (ISF) in the state assembly. He aims to secure re-election from the Bhangar constituency in the upcoming 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, scheduled for April 29. Siddique previously won the seat in 2021, defeating Rezaul Karim of the Trinamool Congress. He has called for a coalition among like-minded parties to effectively challenge the ruling BJP and Trinamool Congress. Despite reaching out to the Congress for a potential alliance, he received no response. His political journey includes a significant protest in 2025, where he was detained following clashes between ISF supporters and police over issues like voter list revisions and the treatment of migrants in BJP-ruled states. Election results will be announced on May 4, 2026.
