The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has completed the final trials of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM)-V3 at its test range near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. These trials were conducted in both air-to-ground and air-to-air modes, utilizing an integrated Ground Control System (GCS) that automates readiness and launch operations. This initiative aligns with the vision of transforming Andhra Pradesh into a major defense manufacturing hub, supported by recent investments including ₹15,803 crore for an Aircraft Integration and Flight Testing Complex in Satya Sai district. The ULPGM-V3 project involves partnerships with Bharat Dynamics Limited and Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Limited for production. The missile has been developed by Research Centre Imarat along with other DRDO laboratories, ensuring a fully mature domestic supply chain ready for serial mass production.
