On Monday, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) initiated a large-scale operation to remove illegal constructions in the city. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Saroj Dhayal reported that 10 to 12 structures are being demolished due to their encroachment on the sector road. As a precautionary measure, internet services have been suspended to prevent potential unrest and the spread of rumors. The operation aims to facilitate a road widening project along the railway line from Nandpuri Underpass to 80 feet. An additional police force has been deployed to ensure the process runs smoothly. Among the structures marked for removal are five religious sites, including one mosque, two temples, one satsang bhavan (prayer hall), and one mazar (shrine). This action follows a previous demolition drive on May 22, where 134 encroachments were removed, and stakeholders were given a chance to clear their structures voluntarily before the administration took action. The public has been cooperative, and the situation remains calm with no reported opposition.
