The Uttar Pradesh government is set to enhance the education of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (Ayush) students by introducing digital cadaver labs. This initiative will utilize state-of-the-art 3-D Anatomage Tables, making Uttar Pradesh the fourth Indian state to adopt such technology for teaching human anatomy. Chaitra V, the Ayush director general, highlighted that the lack of cadavers has posed significant challenges in medical education, particularly in Ayush institutions. To address this, the government has devised a strategy to integrate digital technology into medical education. The first phase will see the installation of these advanced labs at three colleges in Lucknow: the Government Ayurveda College, Government Homeopathy Medical College, and Government Takmil-ut-Tib Unani College. The 3-D Anatomage Table is a touch-screen system that provides high-resolution 3-D models of the human body, allowing for detailed study and virtual dissection of anatomical structures. This technology is already being utilized in other institutions, including the All India Institute of Ayurveda in Delhi and the National Institute of Ayurveda in Jaipur.
