A tragic incident occurred on Friday when an old bridge collapsed in the Bantalab area of Jammu city, India, leading to the death of one labourer. The deceased was found among the debris, while two other workers remain missing. The collapse happened during the construction of a new bridge adjacent to the old structure, which was still in use for traffic. According to police, six workers were present at the site when the incident occurred, with two managing to escape while four were trapped. Rescue operations have been launched by the Chinore police, army, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to locate the missing individuals. Authorities have since closed the road link in the area to facilitate the rescue efforts.
