The qualifiers, held in Kuala Lumpur from May 26 to May 31, saw Thailand dominate Group A, defeating both Malaysia and Hong Kong. Malaysia advanced to the semi-finals by overcoming Hong Kong and later chased down Nepal's target of 126 runs in the semi-final. In the final match, Thailand secured a decisive victory, bowling Malaysia out for just 54 runs and winning by nine wickets. China claimed third place by defeating Nepal in a rain-affected match under the DLS method. The women's tournament will feature eight teams in the T20 format, including four Full Members from the region—Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka—who qualify automatically, along with the host nation, Japan.
