The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) are set to deploy dedicated IT consultants to enhance governance within National Sports Federations (NSFs) as part of the National Sports Digital Ecosystem (NSDE). Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized that this initiative aims to streamline digital systems, improving planning for competitions and national coaching camps, particularly as India prepares for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and its Olympic goals. Over recent years, MYAS and SAI have digitized key interfaces with NSFs, establishing platforms that enhance transparency and accountability. The newly appointed NSF IT Consultants will assist federations in managing digital workflows and operational tasks, ensuring timely processing of athlete data and competition schedules. This initiative represents a significant shift towards an integrated, athlete-focused digital governance model, crucial for improving athlete management and performance monitoring as India aims for a record medal tally in upcoming events.
